Crafted in small designer batches of 100 bars at a time, our handmade soaps are a celebration of creativity and skin-loving ingredients. We upcycle our organic calendula, chamomile, and helichrysum flowers from previous salve infusions—giving them a vibrant second life in rich, nourishing, and exfoliating soap bars.

Each release is unique: one batch may be crowned with dehydrated orange and lemon slices, another swirled in beet red, or naturally tinted with golden turmeric. Every bar bursts with fresh, zesty aromas and all-natural ingredients that cleanse, pamper, and leave your skin feeling lush and loved.

No synthetic scents. No dyes. Just pure, delicious soap that looks as good as it smells—and feels even better.

health made by nature

Discover the power of nature through handcrafted wellness products made from the finest plant-based ingredients. Each formula is carefully created to support your body and mind—naturally, gently, and effectively. Because true health starts with what nature has already given us.

Unlike commercial soaps filled with detergents and chemicals, our soap bars are handmade in small batches using upcycled herbal infusions, organic oils, and rich botanicals. Crafted by our artisan partners at Dusha in downtown Jerusalem, these bars are a beautiful expression of natural skincare. We reuse the calendula, chamomile, and helichrysum herbs from our salve infusions to make exfoliating, nourishing bars—creating a zero-waste cycle. Each batch is unique, vibrant, and scented with fresh, zesty essential oils. You’re not just cleansing your body; you’re connecting to ancient healing traditions from the Holy Land.

Every bar contains a deeply hydrating base of olive oil, shea butter, coconut oil, and castor oil. We add infused calendula, chamomile, and helichrysum, originally used in our salves, to offer skin-enhancing exfoliation. Depending on the batch, you’ll find citric acid, sea salt, sugar, and mineral-rich clays like kaolin and calamine. Each bar is scented with 100% pure essential oils—such as lemongrass, citrus, mint, and floral blends. No synthetic fragrances, dyes, or preservatives—just rich, clean, plant-powered beauty with Jerusalem soul.

Yes! Each bar has a naturally uplifting aroma, made from pure essential oils and aromatic botanicals. Depending on the batch, you may experience bright lemon-lime zest, fresh mint, floral rose, or deep citrus notes. These aren’t synthetic “perfume” scents but real herbal, citrus, and floral blends that invigorate your senses. Our customers often say these bars are the best-smelling natural soaps they’ve ever used—clean, refreshing, and reminiscent of a Jerusalem garden after the rain.

Yes! Thanks to our zero-waste herbal infusion process, we upcycle calendula, chamomile, and helichrysum from our salve batches. These provide natural exfoliation that gently scrubs away dead skin, promotes circulation, and leaves your skin soft, smooth, and renewed. This makes our soaps ideal for daily exfoliation without being harsh or irritating—perfect for reviving dull skin and restoring its natural glow.

Absolutely. These soap bars are handcrafted in collaboration with Dusha, a boutique artisanal soap studio in downtown Jerusalem. The upcycled herbs come from Simcha’s herbal studio in the Arnona neighborhood, and the ingredients are infused with the energy of this sacred city. Every bar is made with intention, prayer, and the blessings of the Holy Land.

Yes! Our bars are gentle enough for facial use, especially on normal to oily or combination skin. The natural oils hydrate while clays and herbs gently purify. For sensitive facial skin, we recommend lathering the soap in your hands first and then applying the foam. Many customers use these bars as their only facial cleanser. Just avoid contact with eyes, as with all natural soaps.

Never. We proudly formulate preservative-free, chemical-free soap bars. There are no parabens, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, or colorants in any of our products. Instead, we rely on cold-pressed oils, raw butters, natural clays, and real essential oils to nourish and care for your skin the way nature intended.

With proper use and a well-draining soap dish, each bar typically lasts a few weeks of daily body use. Some customers report bars lasting over a month when used just for the face or hands. Because our soaps are dense, hand-cut, and rich, they don’t melt away like cheaper glycerin-based soaps. Store them in a dry place between uses to extend their lifespan.

Yes, though we recommend testing on a small area first. The ingredients are gentle and plant-based, and many of our customers use them for their kids. However, babies and toddlers often benefit more from our Organic Baby Butter, which is specially designed for extra sensitive skin. The soap bars are best used for older children and adults, unless we release a specific Baby Soap Bar in the future.

After making our herbal oil infusions (like for the Herbal Family Salve), we’re left with soaked chamomile, calendula, and helichrysum herbs. Instead of composting them, we partner with Dusha to dry, grind, and blend them into our soap recipe—turning potent botanicals into gentle exfoliating magic. This zero-waste skincare practice gives the herbs a second life and makes every soap bar part of a deeper healing cycle from the Land of Israel.

Yes! All Salves of Jerusalem soap bars are 100% vegan and cruelty-free. We don’t use animal fats, tallow, beeswax, milk, or any animal-derived ingredients. We are committed to ethical sourcing, clean beauty, and natural wellness rooted in Torah values and earth stewardship.

After each use, place your soap on a well-draining soap dish, preferably out of direct water flow. This helps it dry faster and last longer. Avoid leaving it in a puddle or unventilated shower caddy. Our soaps are firm but richly nourishing—treat them well and they’ll give you luxurious lather and herbal goodness for weeks.

Yes! We regularly release limited-edition designer batches, each with a unique look, scent, and herbal blend. You might find a bar topped with dried citrus slices, colored with beetroot or turmeric, or scented with bright mint or citrus essential oils. These are not standard uniform soaps—they’re rotating micro-batches crafted with care and intention.

Our soap bars are available right here at salvesofjerusalem.com, at select events and farmers markets, and in-person at Dusha boutique in downtown Jerusalem. They’re also featured in special gift baskets and spa-night bundles, so keep an eye out for holiday promotions and discounts!

They’re hyper-local, rooted in tradition, and 100% natural. Created in Jerusalem using wildcrafted herbs from our community gardens, our soaps embody the best of biblical and herbal skincare traditions. Whether you live in Israel or just want to bring the Holy Land into your home, these soaps are a way to connect to something ancient, grounding, and healing.

We aim for minimal waste, zero plastic, and full-circle herbal use. Our packaging is simple and biodegradable, our ingredients are organic or wildcrafted when possible, and we reduce waste by reusing herbal material from other product lines. Supporting our soap bars means supporting sustainable skincare and a Jerusalem-based micro-economy of artisans.

It started when Simcha Gluck, founder of Salves of Jerusalem, met Yaron and Noa of Dusha. Inspired by their aesthetic and aroma artistry, and wanting to honor the power of our upcycled herbs, we co-created a soap line that blends our infused botanicals with their aromatic genius. The result? A beautiful union of natural soap, Jerusalem soul, and sustainable design. This also is meaningful because Simcha's great great grandfather lived in Jerusalem 120+ years, and as a holy Rabbi and sage mystic, made and sold his own handmade soap here in the the Holy City. This tradition is deep and truly comes full circle.

Some limited editions may include Dead Sea salt or minerals, but not all batches do. When included, Dead Sea salt brings detoxifying, exfoliating, and mineral-replenishing effects that elevate the cleansing experience. For a full-on Dead Sea immersion, try our Herbal Dead Sea Bath Booster—a spa-night miracle in a tin.

Generally yes, but as a precaution, always check with your doctor, especially in the first trimester. Our soaps are made with gentle essential oils and safe herbal infusions, but every pregnancy is different. Most moms-to-be find them refreshing and non-irritating.
